Stress is real.

We are living in a fear-infused world, which our mind translates as danger. Our body responds by activating the nervous system to protect us. For 99 percent of people, this fear-based conditioning unknowingly creates neural pathways that block success and limit progress toward goals. Left unchecked, these pathways cause the mind to generate negative scripts that replay constantly.

Scripts like:

“I’m not good enough.”

“I can’t do this.”

“This won’t work.”

Our behavior then reinforces these scripts until they become a defeating story we repeat more often than not. None of these stories are real, but the mind and body interpret them as truth. The mind-body connection is powerful and can either propel us forward or limit our success. The difference between people who achieve their goals and those who do not often comes down to the story they tell themselves and whether they retrain these neural pathways.

Said another way, our neural pathways either support our goals or block them.

If you feel like you’re not reaching your potential, it’s likely not because of your career, job, relationships, or family history. It becomes rooted in your neurobiology.

Why Progress Often Triggers Retreat

Here’s how it plays out: When you take a step toward a goal, the neural pathway triggers a negative story, which activates a retreat into the illusion of safety. As a result, you stop moving toward what you want.

The Good News: Your Brain Can Be Rewired

The good news is that you can initiate cognitive restructuring and retrain these pathways.

Terri Maxwell created a daily practice that turns off negative programs and activates the part of your brain that propels you toward your goals.

How the Success Switch Practice Works
